At least I didn't want to throttle the protagonists. The wlw romance was fun, but I don't see why the book suddenly had to veer into a (boring) murder mystery.

The actual mystery came in kind of late and was rushed as a result. It’s mostly the characters talking through all the clues they got and not a lot of actual mystery solving imo

This is the epitome of what I call a 'popcorn book' - a light, fast read that's hard to put down! Regency lesbians? Yes, please. Regency ladies bucking patriarchal expectations? Yes, yes, yes.
The romantic plot was enjoyable, and the mystery that unfolded had me thinking of a cross between the board game Clue and the Agatha Christie book 'And Then There Were None'. I don't typically read mystery novels, but I'm glad I went outside my typical genres.
