When they arrive, they discover the healer has been kidnapped by Prince Ravis. In order to save Temra, Ziva must first rescue the healer. In the process, she and Kellyn are taken hostage, and Ziva is forced to do the one thing she never wanted to do: make magical weapons for those who would use them to cause harm. Prince Ravis intends to take the entire kingdom for himself. What can one magically gifted smithy do to prevent a tyrant's takeover, and will Ziva and Kellyn ever be together? #NetGalley

Oh my freaking frack I LOVED this duology! Was it wrapped up perfectly? Yes. Would I read more books in this series Tricia wrote more? Absolutely.

I loved both books and I can't wait to read more books by Tricia Levenseller! The main character Ziva was so unique and endearing! All the other characters were so loveable and interesting too! The storyline and the magic were so freaking fricking fracking fun!

I highly recommend!!

Awww I love this so much more than the first book. I love the character development in Ziva and I love that it is more thrilling because of the constant danger they are in. I felt represented whenever Ziva is battling with her own social anxiety, like how she's always fidgeting, how she's always thinking of the worst case scenarios and how she's always trying to counter her negative thoughts. I think the overthinking part of her is clearly a representation of us all, me especially. I love how Ziva has Temra, her sister, to constantly tell her that no one is paying her any attention. In this age, we need to stop caring about others' opinions, and i understand where Ziva is coming from. I love the fact that she's finally speaking up more and she could find solutions to things without the reliance on her sister.

The most precious thing about this book is definitely the sister's relationship. I love Ziva and Temra. In a way, they reminded me of Scarlett and Tella from Caraval, and i love them. Temra is such a fierce character, and i really wish to see more of her. The other 2 main characters, Patrick and Kellyn are also great in this second book. i love that we got to see a different side of Patrick here. And Kellyn is chef's kiss in the second book. Honestly, i didn't like him much in the first book, but he grows on me. I love the banters between Kellyn and Ziva. Given how Ziva is sorta socially awkward, their banters are so cute.

The most interesting thing is the politics, i may say. There were some twists and turns and I had a lot of fun with Ziva's adventure.

Still, I felt like the ending was too easy. The all-out war went by so quickly, and the final battle between the villain and our main characters was kinda easy too. I also felt frustrated with Ziva sometimes, like the dilemma she's in and the way she was stubborn not to see a way out of that horrible situation sooner. But all in all, I do adore this book and i have so much fun reading this.

Best duology I've read all year, hands down. I'm honestly bummed it's not a series because I'm gonna miss these characters something AWFUL.

Ziva is a unique (yet so relatable) main character, and I really love her.

If I have a gripe, it's that this could have been extended out on a trilogy based on how much physical capabilities Ziva discovered in this second book.

So extremely underrated!!

This was a solid conclusion to Blade of Secrets. Ziva’s anxiety was a bit irksome here; the author amplified it x100 without reason. I loveeee Kellyn though. I did since the first book and I still did in this one <3

So I really do love Tricia’s books. She’s one of my favorite authors. But you mean to tell me Ziva could have made ANOTHER magic sword that puts everyone to sleep and could have easily took out 1000s of Kymora’s with one swing that didn’t even have to touch them. Could have took out the Warlord that killed her mom and father, injured her sister and nearly killed her. Continuously comes after Ziva. But Ziva chose not to… on principle?!?!?! OK RIGHT…..
