I enjoyed this sequel. Strong character development, devotion to family and friends, epic battle, romance, etc. I did get a little tired of Ziva's insecurities being so prominent. I can see someone suffering with the same anxieties will be able to relate to her, so it's not all bad. The audiobook was well narrated, so it moved along at a decent speed.
There are few books which skirt the romance line of overly sexual vs overly cheesy and I thought this book did a good job of it. I was frustrated a few times with Ziva's inner dialog, I found myself thinking, "oh come on get over yourself". However the rest of the story was intriguing and kept my interest.
I recommend this book for 14 and up.

Ziva is so annoying. I can't with her character. I really can't. The codependency is sad at this point. We are looking at so much more than her as far as people and the world and all she can do is debilitate herself unless she is swinging a weapon? I mean good God girl. She has all the power and competency of a goddess Andy she weakens herself in her mind.
And the random therapy talk throughout this book wasn't what I was expecting. This is a fantasy self-help book. If you feel like a social inept human being with the abilities of lady hulk, then this is the booknfor you. I feel like the Kellyn, Terra, and Petrik coddle the mess out of her and she as a character lacks all the growth amd maturity she can muster unless she is almost puking her guts because she crushed some heads in a battle. It's the oldest character I have ever read.

I really feel like Ziva’s anxiety was overplayed - it didn’t seem like she grew from all the challenges she went through. The book also ended kind of abruptly. It built up to the final battle which happened within the last few chapters of the book.
I do appreciate how everything wrapped up and I overall enjoyed the book.
