It was definitely a most intresting read about how the Queen Of Hearts (from Ailce in wonderland) became who she is, I feel like so much more if the movies make sense now. The heartache and feelings were described really well. I probably wouldn't re-read this, ot was a good book but nothing super gripping.

I can’t explain how much I love this book. This is the first book I read for a second time because I loved it so much but I still haven’t emotionally recovered. The plot is so engaging throughout and the characters are impossible not to get attached to. I can’t recommend this book enough to anyone who loves a fantasy retelling/reimagining or just anyone who loves a fantasy book. Warning though: once you read this book, it will be on your mind constantly and I don’t know if anyone has set up a ‘just read Heartless’ emotional support line but they should

It took me a little bit to get into the book, but once we really got to see Jest and Cath’s relationship develop, I was invested. It was hard to read (emotionally) because the ending is in a way already known, but that didn’t stop me from reading it!

Similar to Cruella or Maleficent, it’s the unexpected backstory of a character. True to the book and Alice in Wonderland movie, there are many overlapping characters. Powerful love story. Twists, turns, whimsy, fun, tension, creepy. Well done, though I might prefer to rewrite some sections and outcomes myself.

I love this book and it was so beautifully heartbreaking. The twists and turns were lovely and I almost cried twice. The characters make you defend their wrongdoings with how lovable they are.

This was a book that I enjoyed reading. I think Meyer's writing style is more fairytale inspired than fairytale retelling. I would say this book was a combination of prophecy, romance, Victorian-era gender roles, and the weirdness that can only be found in Wonderland.

i actually dnf’d this book, i only marked it as read because i was 73% in and the hours i spent reading it can never be gotten back. this book was a drag and painful to read, i wasn’t excited to flip to the next page or to know what happened next. i have genuine, deep seated beef with the entire book because the premise was cute but it fell so flat and i resorted to skimming through the pages when i was halfway but struggled to even do that. the world building was sorely lacking and i’m sure the plot line didn’t know what it was let alone the reader. the main character had next to no personality and didn’t stand out in anyway. i felt no attachment to the characters like i usually would when i’m immersed in a good book, they were all forgettable. this book was boring, that’s what it was, boring.
