Just as much fun as the first volume as the Batgirls face down the remnants of a mercenary cult and a serial killer hidden in the shadows. Cloonan and Conrad balance the darkness of Gotham with the youthful fun of our core trio, and a shifting set of artists bring the adventure to life with bold color and dynamic action--with Googe's art being a consistent standout visual style.

Volume one was lackluster, having to do a lot of heavy lifting and cleanup duty on events outside the story. This one came into its own substantially, and while it’s not perfect, it’s an upgrade over the first in every respect and well on its way to delivering on the potential of the premise.

Great continuation, Cass and Steph’s friendship feels like the heart of this series and I love it so much. Really love the art in issues 9-12 as well, love the bold, colourful panels.
