This book was a little confusing at first because of the way it’s written (poems), but it’s really beautifully done. It didn’t take me long to get into the swing of things because Holt does a great job of transitioning between voices. This was a such a wholesome story about middle schoolers and what it means to identify themselves and come to terms with their sexuality. I’m definitely buying it for my classroom.

I made it almost halfway bit gave up because I just couldn’t get comfortable with the choral style verse format. I tried reading it then switched to audio. No dice. I just couldn’t enjoy it.

Love the characters tho, and the idea

Very cute! Felt like a middle grade queer adaptation of Taylor Swift's You Belong With Me.

This book. OMG this book.

When I was in middle/high school, this is a book I would have wanted to read. Just to see that things can be okay if you accept yourself, even if others don't.

This book is important to the little gay teenager I used to be.

This book is important.

It’s a cute middle school romance  told in verse. It was a lil tropey (perfect cheerleader falls in love with a jock and they’re total opposites) but I loved it.

The sweetest lil gay love story about two 7th grade girls. And all the ups and downs to go with it. My heart is so full after this read. I loved it so much.
