Nearing it's end ,my heart started murmuring an episode again , and the idea that maybe i would die when the novel ended didn't repell me , was i born to read this book? It has resonated with me beyond the ordinary.

This book deserves its reputation of being a masterpiece
It treats with the theme of vanity, of youth. Indeed, the young Dorian is praised by two older men, telling him how handsome and perfect he was. Basil painted the young Dorian, the picture is perfect, and Dorian wishes to stay as he was in the picture forever.
Henry, his friend, leads him on being obsessed with his youth and the fact that his beauty allows him to do everything he wants.
Thus, Dorian becomes more and more vain and plays with people. Nonetheless, it appears that his face does not mark the traits of vanity, meanness or ageing. In fact, Dorian's wish became true : the picture gets old, and shows his soul, whereas his face stays spotless.

The book is witty, and there is a lot of unsaid. It is quite short, but it nonetheless renders the whole story very well
I loved the multiple references Wilde made in it, but also the poetry of the dialogue between Dorian and Henry, but also with Basil.
