If it had been just boring... but it is so much more. Stupid. Pretentious. Annoying.

But hey, you get a cliffhanger at the end of EVERY chapter... 🙄

Updated rating on 5/25/18 - changing this from 4 to 3 stars. Angels and Demons and the Da Vinci Code are not as good as Lost Symbol or Inferno, imo.

I really enjoyed The Da Vinci Code.

I could tell that Dan Brown thoroughly researched the settings in this story. From the Louvre, to the Temple Church in London, the background and places that the main character, Robert Langdon, travels to are absolutely intriguing. As I read this book, I felt I was right there with Langdon and Sophie Neveu willing them on to solve the mystery.

This is a story of the search for the Holy Grail, and one of my favorite passages which grabbed me near the end was: "For some, the Grail is a chalice that will bring them everlasting life. For others, it is the quest for lost documents and secret history. And for most, I suspect the Holy Grail is simply a grand idea . . . . a glorious unattainable treasure that somehow, even in today's world of chaos, inspires us."

The reason, I gave it only four stars is because the pacing seemed a little off to me, and the "bad guy" twist near the end was somewhat predictable. The ending and plot resolution was satisfying though. The Da Vinci Code is definitely worth the read if you enjoy conspiracy theories, and well written thrillers. Dan Brown is a very good writer. It kept me at the edge of my seat and was a real page-turner.

Happy reading, everyone!

I read the Illustrated version and I'm glad I did,
It helped me identify some things I would not have been familiar with.

An interesting and gripping story.
But that's how I read it... as a story, a work of fiction.

I understand the controversy surrounding this book, but its just a story.

Such a good read, fast paced and so intriguing. So many clever plot twists too. A lot of history, and some content heavy sections but it all connected to the overall plot.
