A book where you hate literally every single character. You expect there to be a plot twist given you're trying to solve the murder mystery, but I didn't expect all the other crazy twists on account of everyone else having their own sociopath plots. I found it a little hard to get into at first mostly because the story hadn’t developed much yet and the characters were insufferable.
this one was fine but the last 3 chapters were so ?????? do they know being gay is legal?

3.75 stars...this was my first time diving into this authors writing and I enjoyed it. It kept you guessing and the plots they kept on twisting. The characters were all well developed and it was quite a ride. I will definitely read more from her in the future. I like a good mystery/thriller. May I just say Karma works it's magic in crazy ways. Yes I would recommend this book to readers.

Didn’t expect the killer but overall wasn’t that impressed, just a so so plot
I do like Lucinda Berry’s thriller books. I find them nice palate cleansers to read alongside all the heavy fantasy I’m reading just now.
The ending was standard Lucinda - whiplash from about 50 different things happening and the random twist at the end was a bit daft. DIY embryo implanting? Okay Lucinda stick to thriller let’s nae drift into sci-fi.

I struggled with this book. All the characters were unlikeable and annoying. They definitely weren’t friends. There were also wayyy to many too many twists at the end. It made the story unrealistic at the end.
Keep Your Friends Close by Lucinda Berry is a friendship thriller/murder mystery. If you’ve read this author in the past, then you know she throws INCREDIBLE twists your way and that’s not different with this book. I’ll admit, I didn’t read the blurb for this one because I’ll read anything she writes so I went into it thinking it was a vacation thriller because of the cover- it’s not! This is a story about a group of friends, one murder, and finding out which one of them did it. The ending will likely surprise you because Berry doesn’t hint at anything- she holds her cards very close to her chest- and I was SHOCKED with how this one ended. Honestly, it’s a really great book and I think anyone who loves thrillers should read this one.
The last 40% of this book was so good, but it was a struggle to get through before that. I’m back and forth between 3 and 4 stars right now.
