Very different from the first two. Doesn't feel like the same series. No longer liked any characters.

As a finale to what was built up in the first two books I thought this fell flat with the story direction and character arcs.

What an emotional ending. It's going to take me a while to figure out how I feel about this series as a whole. On one hand it was very hard to immerse myself in, with so many of the concepts being hard to, well, conceptualize. It wasn't as bad in this final book, and there was more focus on the characters themselves, their own personal challenges. But it was just such an abstract world, with hard-to-grasp concepts, that I always felt at a bit of a distance. I really liked the idea of cadences, of Giva, of everyone being connected to everyone else and building a better future. The isolation of Berenice and Gregor was hard to read, even when Gregor left to join everyone else. I just hope Sancia and Berenice were happy on their own in the end. Clef, his son, and wife seemed to get their happy ending as well, and I enjoyed the reveal that Tevanne was his wife all along.

A wonderful conclusion. It did drag in a few places causing pacing issues but aside from that, an excellent book.
