Another that I listened to Jackson herself reading. Interesting and one I don’t remember reading previously. The usual, abrupt ending that she seemed to enjoy teasing us with. Worth listening to in her own voice.

i've read this story before, but had forgotten all about it. i think largely because not a whole lot happens in this story, i don't find it as captivating as other shirley jackson works. a product of its time, i suppose
