This book got me out of my reading slump but also is the kind of book I could read in three days because it's an easy read, with similar tropes to fanfics that I would read overnight, I'm glad it ended the way it did. I really enjoyed Rose's character, but everyone else fell pretty flat to me. Great read for when you're trying to turn off your brain and not think too hard. Thank God Parker was 18 because if she was anything younger, I'd be even more uncomfortable with this story.

Also, special note: Elton is so narcissistic and triggering, so be warned because the power dynamics in this book is mostly in his favor for not other reason than the fact that he's surface level pretty with the mind of a manipulative sociopath.

The premise was good, but the execution needed some work. The characters--while likeable--were somewhat one-dimensional (especially the antagonists), and the whole story felt rushed. Some of the plot points were confusing, and I questioned a few of the storytelling decisions.

I had initially planned to give it 2.5 stars, but the scene whre
Holly visited her mother
was really poignant. I also liked the plot line
with Mr. Stokard
and found it very true to life. The message of the book was quite nice, and overall, it isn't a bad read.

Wasn't great in the first few chapters but I found myself starting to love the characters. It also has the found family trope which is one of my favorites.

Go girl give us nothing! No chemistry with the romance! None of the interesting vampire lore, they're just immortal and drink blood and miserable! No plot! No subtlety with any of the themes! No subtlety with character emotions just straight up tell us what they're feeling!

Extra star for Stacey's dramatic ass, she was so valid.
