I had so much fun reading this! It's a fast-paced, emotion filled read, and the worldbuilding is stellar. The magic system here is really unique and exciting, both in terms of the wow factor, and in the way it interacts with the politics and social hierarchies of the world.

What bumps it down to a 4, verging on 3.5 for me is the prose which could definitely be improved, and the sheer volume of fight scenes. While they're very well executed, and many of them manage to be memorable in their own right, it does feel like the book drags on for a little longer than necessary, mostly due to the huge page count spent on fights.

Ending for our MC was a bit too clean. Not sure about the death at the end. Well written, excellent world building (truly amazing ). Good, dark revenge story
