The prologue was very promising and I liked the world building but I just didn’t care for any of the characters.

You really feel Tua pain and understand why he does what he does.

Really good pace, I was never bored. It ends kind of abruptly but was still good.

from start to finish there is never a dull moment. Something epic is always happening. I usually get bored during training sections of books but the way Winter kept me engaged was great. All of the pain Tau dealt from death and ishigoho was beautifully captured and brought to life. The prologue and the change of POV chapters were so great to see Tau from different perspectives. I just imagine Tau like Kratos. He is an epic champion of the people.
