I enjoyed the intertwined stories of the generations of characters. The story was very compelling. I'm a slow reader and the book is long, but I was able to remember all the story lines and stayed "hooked" until the last page.
Wow this book takes a lot of focus, not necessarily an easy read but I promise if you stay to the end- it will surprise you and open up your heart up & make you fall in love with it. Amazing
I cant recommend this book enough. For something I have been forced to read, it went above and beyond my expectations.
I probably wouldnt have picked it up of my own volition, so I'm glad!
It's about the mystery of Nell's existance. Where did she come from? Who was her mother? Who was the Authoress and why did she leave her alone on a ship headed for Australia?
You'll be guessing until the very end. I know I was!
Ps. Have a feeling Uncle Linus is a whack job and it probably very good mates with my dear friend Humbert Humbert. What is with good ol' Humbert popping up everywhere these days? I don't remember his presence before!
P.P.S. Extra kudos for saying Uncle Linus "bleated". I have a feeling thats the most awesome way of describing an annoying character's ravings =) It makes me so happy!

This is my second Kate Morton and it follows the exact same formula as Homecoming, but you know what? It works. It was a fun, moving family mystery that managed to differ enough from Homecoming that even with so many similarities it was still a different enough book to have fun unraveling.
