'Savage Beard of She Dwarf' with story and art by Kyle Latino is a fun fantasy graphic novel about the last Dwarf.
She Dwarf, with the bushy beard, thinks she is the last dwarf and she is on a quest to the dwarven city of Dammerung. Along the way, she will meet fierce monsters, and join up with even fiercer companions.
I had a lot of fun reading this crazy story. The characters are over the top. So is the art, with insane monsters and really great colors. It's not a massively deep story, but I really liked it.
I received a review copy of this graphic novel from Oni Press and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this graphic novel.

Savage Beard of She Dwarf began as a webcomic that just finished a 4-year run. She Dwarf - that's her name - is the descendant of Battle Mother, a celebrated warrior who died in battle, leaving She Dwarf to believe that she may be the last living dwarf. She undertakes a quest to the Lost Underground Dwarven Kingdom of Dammerung to find answers, joined by a barbarian named Hack Battler, who seeks membership in his own Barbarian Warband.
Fantasy fans will love the feats of strength - sword fighting! Beard fights! - that run throughout the book, but the gore factor can be a little high, so I'd consider this for teens and up. (Give younger fantasy fans the Munchkin comics, though: those are great.) The action is fast, chaotic fun, and the bright and wild colors always give you somewhere to look. If you have fantasy readers, add this one.

This comic isn't like most web comic complications or visual novels, instead being much closer to newspaper comics in almost every way. From the art to the pacing to the plot itself, this is a simple classic style comic with a mildly interesting cast who unfortunately fall flat against the rest of the book.

This was both wholesome and gruesome. I loved it!
The found family vibes were great, I love a good quest, and I loved all the nods to classic fantasy characteristics.
