This was the first book that I read by this author that I did not read in one sitting.
Mostly because I was not impressed by the writing.
I had a hard time believing that this was written by someone who I have praised so much in the past.
Here the writing felt too juvenile.
And so was the storytelling.
But I did enjoy the humour added in the dialogues (except for a 5 years old using the f word).
The dynamics between the characters wasn’t bad, but I didn’t find the storyline that original.
The main character failed to impress me, but I did not dislike her.
To cut short, I will just say that this installment was very disappointing for me.

This falls into the category (bread and butter) I will always pick up, (specially British versions) of detective/cat chasing the killer/mouse. However, it’s a 4 ⭐️ because I’ve found a couple of this trope that WOWed me and since I read it so much. I will forget this book because it didn’t stand out, but during the read, I loved it.
