The bouncy rhythms will make young kids want to get up and dance, shake and move. Love the illustrations and diversity!

Not many words per page, this one would be great for beginning readers.
The artwork is, I believe, pastels, beautifully rendered.
This would also be loads of fun to read to a group of kids, having them act out each page.

The illustrations were the best I've seen this year! 6 out of 5 stars! The text was unfortunately boring. I read it to Kindergarten and Grade 1; most of them did not like it and started getting fidgety, even though it was a short book. So 1/5 stars... averaged to be 3.5 stars.

This book is a load of fun. My son is a little bit too young for it, but in a couple of years he's going to love stomping his feet, snapping his fingers, and clapping his hands along to the rhythm of the book. Even now, at 7 months, he loved the rhythmic almost song-like way the words roll off the page. I'll definitely be adding this book to his collection and reading it to him again very often!

A repetitive story about movement and dance. Would be fun to act out during storytime.

Oh, how I loved this book! It is filled with beautiful illustrations, rhyming words, and a rhythm you can't help but read in.

Colorful and bright! This book catches your attention right away. There are bold colors and the little girl is just bursting with energy as they walk through the park. Plus she is adorable and I love her hair! It is nice to see so many multicultural characters in one book. It is just like a real walk in the park.
I always wanted to incite an impromptu dance party on the streets. Growing up on musicals and Disney films will do that to you but this book almost makes it real. The little girl is dancing to the sounds of the world around her. The drummer in the park, the snapping of fingers, and the stomping of feet. The illustrations have fluidity to them and you can almost see the characters dancing to the music. The pure joy of music and dance will set your toes a tapping and itching to dance.
I highly recommend this one, if only for the illustrations. They are delightful and I love the main character! She gets everyone to dance and have fun. Plus it is nice to see a picture book about dancing that does not focus on ballet. There should be more books about just loving the joy of dancing.

The illustrations in the book were beautiful. Not as beautiful as Kadir Nelson's illustrations, but still beautiful. The story was okay and I liked the multi-ethinic vibe. This book could be used in a story time kit that deals with sounds or music.
