The Kiss Thief by L.J. Shen

The main male character is absolutely awful to her and that far into the book he did not get kinder or soften even an inch. I don’t like reading books where the characters are made to feel small and unworthy.

Absolutely FANTASTIC!

“A Story of a Nemesis and a Villain with no chance at a happy ending. Where the prince doesn't save the princess. He tortures her. And the beauty doesn't sleep. She's stuck. In a nightmare”
― L.J. Shen

This was my first LJ Shen novel! I wish I had discovered her sooner. This book played out as a movie in my mind. It was vivid, full of emotions. I went between laughing, crying, and yelling throughout. This is a serious ENEMIES to LOVERS book.

“Maybe I am the monster. After all, I come out to play at night. But so do you, little one. You’re out in the darkness, too.”
― L.J. Shen

I really do not want to say too much about this wicked fairy tale of the big bad Wolfe who was captured in Nemesis's pool, while the mafia gods of Chicago pulled strings and made deals. There is a fine line between love and hate.

The beautiful nineteen-year-old Mob Princess with a heart of gold and face of a goddess, Franchesca, who has only wanted Angelo, a man from her father's world, since she was a child has her hopes ripped when her father declares that she is going to marry the cold and calculating Senator Wolfe Keaton. In this story is no one is who they seem. Good and bad, right and wrong, truth and lies are all blurred. It is a beautiful and heartbreaking story. I feel a book hangover coming on.

This book has been on my TBR for the longest time and I've finally gotten around to it after recently purchasing my Kindle! Even though it is problematic at times (the main character misogynistic and arrogantly flawed), it is quite the guilty pleasure to read. I flew through this book in a single night!
