Please note the TW before proceeding to read this book. I won't say it was a love-triangle because it didn't feel like that.

So, I've discovered that Mafia Romance is not for me. The character motivations are just all over the place and I don't think I've ever read a MMC so toxic. I can forgive the MFC for being a naive (she is an actual teenager) but her internal monologues are problematic for me. It's a nope.

1. The male lead is in general a huge asshole with no redeeming qualities
2. The age gap is creepy instead of sexy
3. The first scene that they’re in bed,  he humiliates her, degrades her, and hurts her over a misunderstanding, and him feeling bad about it after doesn’t make it ok when it was practically SA and the age gap+arranged marriage makes it feel like child trafficking.
4. My first experience with dark romance, and in conclusion it might not be the genre for me. I found this pretty sick and I wanted most of the characters to die by 40%. I found that to be an unlikely ending so I gave up.

I didn’t really really get invested until almost halfway through. My main problem wasn’t even so much the age gap between Francesca and Wolfe. I’m strangely more bothered that Angelo fell in love with her when she was 16 and he was 20. Francesca has known Angelo since she was born and they watched each other grow up. They are closer in age but something about it still gave me groomer vibes so not really a strong start in my opinion. I didn’t think this book was a particularly great book but it was hard to put it down. It’s sorta like watching a car crash. You know you should look away but you just can’t.
