Spindle's End

I thought this was a very clever retelling of Sleeping Beauty. I love when the heroine rescues herself instead of being rescued. Unfortunately, there was so much detail and it ended up being so long that I found myself bored in many places.

Why are you dating someone you meet when they were a baby when you were an adult? That’s weird.

This is a nostalgia read for me. Reread after 15 years to see if I still loved it as much and yep. Still do.

A bit long at the end there but I l love the writing and the retelling

This was a reread for me - it's been years and I remembered almost nothing about the book. There's a lot of buildup and I wouldn't say the ending was very predictable - at least, not all of it. I think if it weren't for the weirdness of the main character's romantic relationship, I'd give it 5 stars. It meanders, but I wasn't mad about it, and the prose is beautiful.
