Great plot, but A CLIFFHANGER AT THE END?! You are killing me Elle…
Love the story, but docked points because I did not like Lawson’s storyline and the student/teachers affairs happening. I am also hoping some of the other character’s develop more as some of them felt a little useless to the story.
That cliffhanger will definitely have me reading the next one though. Would still recommend if you love Elle’s other books and her storytelling style!

I'm a sucker for mentally unstable groups of people (case in point my love for aftg) but imo it was kinda weird that there's an UNDERAGE character having sex in these books even if her scenes are a lot less descriptive than everyone else's. and also just setting this in a high school and not a college is a little weird but ig you just can't get the forced to stay at boarding school vibes from a college.
Needed a little palate cleanser between series and this was perfect. Not as good as some of her other books but still gave what I was looking for. Will be reading the sequel.
3.5*
I enjoyed this one, but felt like the 5 pov's were unnecessary. Overall, it was a fun read to finish off January. And I'm intrigued to see where book 2 goes after the ending❤️

I loved that characters weren't flawless - they all had their own flaws, they made mistakes and that was awesome. They were everything else than boring! First they felt irritating but it was so much easier to understand them when I got to know more about them: their parents sucked at parenting and some had pretty bad things that happened to them in the past. Romance wasn't the best part of the book, I enjoyed more this otherwise - this tasted like life and I enjoyed following what happened to different characters.
This was like watching a train wreck and I confess: I was addicted. :D The ending left my mouth open, hahah. I loved that. So twisted, left me super intrugued.

Just take away RJ, Sloane, and Lawson... and I might actually like this book. I did get some Veronica Mars season 1 vibes, but these teens are way too full of themselves for my liking. RJ was more tolerable in the chapters from Sloane's perspective. But he's no better than most of the other characters.
Ironically, I thought I wouldn't like Fenn based on his introduction in the first chapter, but he ended up being one of my favorite characters. (Back to Veronica Mars... he's like Logan.) I wanted more of Fenn and Casey, who are exactly my cup of tea.
Of course, they're the focus of the second book. So dang it, I'm gonna go back to the series for more.
