Eu tinha muita curiosidade em ler alguma obra do Kurt Vonnegut e resolvi começar pelo livro mais famoso, Matadouro Cinco. Já estava preparada pra uma historia bem viajada, mas esse livro definitivamente não é do meu gosto. Entendo o que o autor quis fazer e acho a proposta interessante: a guerra é tão irracional que é impossível falar sobre ela de forma racional. Mas não me conectei com nenhum dos personagens, achei cansativo o vai e volta no tempo e da metade pro fim, eu li apenas na força do ódio.

I think this book combines tragedy with comic relief in a really interesting way. To have 2 such conflicting attitudes sounds like it may make it hard but I think the sort of pendulum to it all helped add impact throughout
I do wish I had read this quicker, I think the idea of slipping through time would've been felt all the more if I had simply made more time for the book and would reccomend to others to read it in a shorter span of time if able
Lots of ideas sound odd on paper (such as the lack of conventiona structure and tragedy blended with humorous prose) but I think vonnegut did a great job of pulling it off and it ultimately kept me really invested in the story of Billy, told through a series of snapshots of his life.
I think the highlights for me were either Derby becoming a character or the war happening in reverse
