The Ending... Oh My GOD!

Re-read Update!

My reaction is still "The Ending... Oh My God!". Believe me, the second time around didn't make it any better. My heart was still left in a little pile of dust which Rick Riordan is preparing to blow away by making the characters suffer even more.

But I would like to add something that's not specifically about this book. But about the while series.

I'm sure everyone knows that Piper often gets hate because her priorities seem a bit... Aphrodite-like. She thinks and worries a bit too much about her relationship with Jason despite being in multiple life-or-death situations. Honestly, the only thing left is if Jason joined a rock band. She'd be a regular fangirl/groupie.

At first, I didn't like her either. But after some thought, I figured out why she's like that. And lets just say that Rick Riordan is a freaking genius. He puts so much thought into his characters and, while he tortures them, cares about them so much.

You see, I think Piper's priorities at that way on purpose. It's not the author's fault (he didn't do anything wrong). Hell, it's not even Piper's fault. Her mother is the love goddess. No matter how different she is or tries to be, she can't stop herself from caring about love or relationships any more than Annabeth can stop herself from being smart. It's kind of hardwired into her. She could be a lot worse (example, Drew).

So, while she's still not my favourite character, I understand her and I accept her.

If you wanna hate someone, hate Aphrodite. I do.
