I think I’m loosing the thread here or maybe I need a timeline map. I followed it but I don’t think it holds up to the previous volumes
Turns out if you have any problem you should wait for your time traveling future self save the day for you... Also for the love of Jibbers Tyler cannot be the only black person in medieval England...
The whole "I have to do this because a future version of me does it" just doesn't hold up. Otherwise, a really fun read.
The Magic 2.0 books are great, light-hearted fun, and this one is no exception. I'm glad that Meyer has moved away from the formula of antagonists (in the first 3 books) to the wizards just screwing things up themselves and then having to come up with a way to fix things (books 4 & 5) - it turns what could be something falsely epic into an almost sit-com like farce, which is what makes these books amusing and fun. I don't want anything deep and meaningful here, just something that makes me grin as I read it. Good fun!

I love this series, and I will pretty much always read whatever next one comes out, but some of the time traveler aspects in this story got a little convoluted and confusing, compared to earlier work. This author always has lots of fun pop culture references and creative turns of phrase, which I love. I don't suggest starting the series with this story, unfortunately--too many references to earlier events. I like the foreshadowing for whatever the next book might be, though!

This book has some series timey-whimey stuff going on. I wouldn't recommend reading this one out of order because it focuses on the Brits, and knowing their background is helpful. The story is a lot of fun, and there are odd twists and turns aplenty.
3.5 stars. I had to resist the urge to drop my rating even lower, because of the cliffhanger ending. (To me, I find that in books, they are disrespectful of the reader who has bought your book for a story, not to be coerced into buying another to get the end of what they've bought.)
But the journey is fun. I was unsatisfied with the conclusion, because I feel like fight scenes work better in video than they do in writing. Before it was finished, I was tired of reading who was where doing what and wanted the story to move on, already.
But… fun imagining the power to change the world in whatever ways I wanted… even if these particular "wizards" are more of a cautionary "how not to" example.

I’ve really enjoyed the rest of this series but this was really tedious.
honestly liked the ending, bit of a cliffhanger, excited for the next one!
