Look, I'll admit that the second book was shaky to me, but this last book pulled it back. The first is my favorite of the three, but this one was also really darn good and difficult to put down. Truly a story of villains.
ALSO one of those rare books with no romance. I wouldn't say Kovit and Nita are just friends, but... yeah. I ended up loving them and their development.

Recommend if you are looking for a dark story where the main characters are NOT heroes in any sense of the word, urban fantasy setting that doesn't take place in the US, and does offer questions about morals, personal beliefs, and what does vengeance cost.

I fucking loved this series so so much!! Just perfect for me. No pushing for romance, morally grey characters and Kovit.

It was a brilliant conclusion to the story, tho i was kinda disappointed on how Nita’s mother died, felt a little rushed. Nita was amazing as usual, and Fabricio I really loved him, i wished we got more of him somehow..

I can’t wait to read more from Schaefer.

Hmmm. As much as I love this series, I do feel like it almost could have been a stand-alone. Nita and Kovit are fascinating characters, but it irked me that there was no true retribution for all of the terrible things that they did. Maybe that was the point, but to me it felt a bit narratively unsatisfying. There were also some loose ends that I would have liked to see expanded on and all-in-all this conclusion didn’t feel very final.

A very nice continuation and tying all the knots of the series. Love the way author approach the epilogue.

Much better than the second book. At least in this one I feel like there is some what of a plot.

The first book in this series was so good and then the story went downhill. I was super hard to finish this but I didn’t want to leave it unfinished.
