Just couldn’t hold my interest. I did finish it though because my mom didn’t raise a quitter.

The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels is part Victorian-era historical fantasy and part comedic farce, with a cast of pirates and lady thieves, and featuring flying houses, deadly rivalries between friends, and plenty of mid-assassination flirting. It’s sometimes dark, sometimes sexy, but mostly it’s silly. And it’s really fun.

It took me so long - longer than it should have - to finish this book. The dialogue was SOMETIMES fun and the plot is just one that I could see myself enjoying were it like a romcom or any of the sort. Unfortunately for me, reading this felt like reading isolated words which combined make zero sense.
It’s got massive slow burn, to the point where only at roughly 50% did I feel like the plot truly was “plotting” and then thought “hey, I could actually enjoy this”. And I did, but because I enjoyed some of the content, not for the book itself. I found these characters so shallow that I couldn’t relate to them at all (I don’t even know who is who, to be honest).
Sadly, this book was a harsh no, and so I won’t be ready any of the other books in the series. One was enough :,)
