I enjoyed Rukh and Harlow’s story of two people who have been abandoned finding solace and family in each other in isolation. Rukh’s “Mowgli/Tarzan” vibe was not necessarily for me but I loved how the author wrote it to be for Harlow, who’s battling her own fears and demons around her inoperable brain tumor and her constant fears her cancer is back despite the healing effect of the khui. I think this was a good story of introverted hermits finding that community and family is not that bad after all. TW: cancer, abandonment, neglect, and pregnancy complications.

ENG
this one was cute. i liked the communication barrier…actually, this one was a combination of the first and second book. but this one felt more complete.

“Har-loh, I will wait forever for you if I must. Time does not matter as long as we are together.” 💖🥶💖🥶💖

Once again Harlow & Rukh’s story is so freaking cute! 😍 Their journey is different from the others and so heartwarming ❤️

I started reading Ruby Dixon's Ice Planet Barbarian series this summer, and I enjoy picking one up about once a month for a lighthearted romantic, adventure journey onto a cold, not-capitalist world, where the khui living in the alien and human bodies keep them alive and cure them of all ailments from earth - cancer, infertility, etc. I think Dixon does a good job making these books oddly relatable, though it's a very different world, and very steamy and fun. I am hooked - will continue the series. This story was Harlow and Rukh. Harlow had a brain tumor on earth and is finding her way on Not Hoth, and Rukh raised himself alone in the wilderness. Fun times, enjoyed, will continue reading :)

A fine installment, but I think there was a lot of potential in this premise, and I was hoping for a little more out of it and didn't get it. (Yes, I know this is IPB.) Just didn't enjoy it as much as the first three, but that certainly won't stop me from continuing!
