2 stars mainly because I don’t think I understood the story. I also was bored by the endless surmising, but I suppose she’s thinking about her life as she’s thinking about Magda? I don’t know!!

sometimes 'weird' books piss me off but I did enjoy this one overall. having said that it did fall into the trap of an ending that just felt too disconnected to the rest of the book and all of the plot buildup felt like it went nowhere
