I absolutely loved the illustrative style of this author/illustrator, it was really beautiful. I enjoyed the story, Caroline exploring her sexuality and gender and having her first crush. I didn’t give all 5 stars because, even though it was over 300 pages, it didn’t feel finished. The ending was so abrupt and I would have liked to see how the relationship continued once Kim went to college or the journey of Caroline feeling more comfortable with herself.

I really loved this book but the ending was so abrupt and felt like there were pages missing. I really hope the author comes out with a sequel someday to finish the story.

I really enjoyed this! I easily got swept up by the characters and their lives. There's so much happening and it all unfolds gradually, revealing layer after layer of complexity. By the end I felt such satisfaction and also a bit of melancholy about it being the end. An excellent graphic novel about family, identity, growing up, and finding yourself.

Surprisingly really good, touches on queerness and overbearing-ness of an asian mom household- which is something any asian femme growing up could relate to. Takes the story in strides through different chapters. A generally really pleasant read.
