This is already published by the time my review is up but this recent release sealed the deal that graphic novels are slump busters.

In this one, we follow Caroline and Kim, two queer Asian-American teens growing up in SF suburbs, as they forge and unexpected connection.

Asian sapphics are winning in this one and I'm surprised that the secondary MC is Filipino-American.

3.5. Some really cute moments and some heavier ones but there was a good balance. I wish all of the themes here (identity, family, discovery of self, etc) had been explored a little more. I felt like we scratched the surface on everything. Still, a good reason.

I enjoyed the exploration of the intersection of Asian-ness and queerness! The art style wasn't for me, and I felt myself wanting something more from this story. Overall it was an emotional read that I enjoyed.
