This was an enjoyable read. Vivy was an excellent MC. She was funny and real, and I enjoyed seeing her learn to advocate for herself and also embrace her autistic identity more. I appreciated that VJ, whom she was writing to, wasn't this perfect adult that served as a faceless entity for Vivy to write to. He was flawed and messed things up and had his own things going on, and his interaction with Vivy impacted the story. Finally, I was surprised to find that I liked the sports-focussed narrative. I usually don't, but I actually enjoyed piecing things together about baseball and understanding people's passion for the sport.
Unfortunately, the epistolary format, while mostly interesting and unique, was at times limiting. For example, I felt a bit distanced from the events of the narrative. Another negative is that if you don't have any knowledge of baseball, you will struggle a little - due to the fact that the two MCs know baseball well, they don't explain the sport in their correspondence.
As a side note, I listened to the audiobook, which was fantastic. There is a separate narrator for both Vivy and VJ, and both brought so much life to the characters. Overall, I would recommend this book!
