The first half of this had me enthralled and in tears, emotionally attached to poor Mary through all the barbs directed at her.
The rest, while entertaining, and so well reminiscent of Pride and Prejudice, didn't quite keep my focus as well - I found myself easily distracted.
A satisfactory ending all around, I'd be keen for a book telling the story of Miss Bingley next, given her character arc in this novel...

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this was delightful. It was a lovely return to the world of Pride and Prejudice from a slightly different angle.

The story was cute however it could have benefited from tighter editing. There was too much and I lost interest and skipped whole chapters without losing the story. It would have been a more enjoyable read if it had been trimmed down. I feel like the entire first part and much of the second could have been summarized or just not have been included at all. Also, we got it, Mary doesn't like herself, no reason to dwell on it for paragraphs over and over and over.
Again it was cute and if you have time to kill and nothing better to read give it a go, and just be prepared to either spend a lot of time on needless chapters, or to skip ahead now and again.
