Truly, a very, very sweet book that does such a great job in humanizing Mary Bennet. I can’t remember what review of this book I was reading but they summed it up perfectly with something like, “In Lizzie Bennet, we see who we want to be. In Mary, we see ourselves - flaws and all.” This reflection of yourself makes Mary’s victories all the sweeter (yes I cried a little near the end).

I love Austen inspired books, and loved the idea of a a Mary perspective and I was not disappointed. Admittedly it is a bit slow, but I loved the character development of Mary, and the story as a whole.

The second half is a fun read, so skip the beginning. A credible reinterpretation of Mary Bennet’s character; very interesting once she has been turned into someone else.
I was so angry with Mary for so long, but my heart was so filled by the end
