Keruac's musings really haven't aged well. Not only is this racially changed and class insensitive at times, I counted something like 24 adjectives in a paragraph so no thank you...

Almost halfway through and I have been bored the entire time, there are some beautiful lines but it’s mostly just describing the railway. Also really weird, sexual description of a young girl, just not my vibe. Not interested.

Some parts like "New York" and "On mountains" really got me. I also love the namedroping and connection to other beat writers. There are some quotes of this book that you can just feel.

Reading Kerouac always gives me way to much wanderlust though.

One of my favourite Kerouacs so far. I forgot where I was, forgot I was even reading. Kerouac's prose is endlessly mesmerising, uninhibited and truthful. As with On the Road, I know I will re-read Lonesome Traveler when I need it most, to watch both the wonder and horror of the world and still be filled with optimism. I absolutely loved this book and was sad to finish it.

Drugged out hippie.

Only 160 I really thought I’d whizz through this but I couldn’t finish it...
