Have to give 5 stars given this is one of the most important books in the Western Canon.

I actually enjoyed this more than The Iliad, but I would definitely recommend reading that one first so you understand the background. Lots of characters so helps to read this and take notes too.

I just couldn't quite get into this as much as I wanted. Maybe it would've helped if I'd read the Iliad first? But apparently I like to read things out of order… The version I read had summaries before each book/chapter (whatever you want to call it) which I found very helpful. In general there didn't seem to be as much acto to the plot as I had thought. Again maybe I should have read the Iliad first.
