I loved the romance and the main characters but everything else was just meh. The magic, family drama, and the last half of the book were boring and confusing.

I had spent a bit of time trying to come up with my next read and randomly picked this one as I was in the mood for witches.

I started it at 930 at night and could not put it down until I finished it a few hours later.

In this ff pnr romance, Alandra is a not so powerful witch and when she tries to cast a protection spell, she ends up summoning the moon. But the moon is in danger from other witches trying to sacrifice her for her power.

This story had a lot more action than I was planning on. I think it could use more romance. It’s kind of an instalove thing.

Alandra’s family is so awful it ruins the story. I honestly couldn’t tell whether I was supposed to hate them or not. Her sister is always around and they seem like they’re friends but she’s awful so it was very confusing. Her mother was also terrible but we blow past that for some reason. And her dad is the worst of all of them but he’s forgiven by the end. The idea here is that you need to forgive family and it’s so not in line with this century. We cut toxic people off now, thanks. Yikes.
