This book is infuriating and not good enough to finish. It takes until almost halfway to figure out why she can’t be with the guy she wants to be with (her best friend) and it’s a misunderstanding and they’re both clearly pining over each other

I really like the concept of this book, being set up on a bunch of dates by your loved ones and seeing how goofy some of the dates were.
I feel like the starting of her wanted to go on a dating sabbatical because of so not so great dates is a little silly like it's not hard to just not date for a while? And you don't have to make this huge announcement? Especially when it didn't really seem like the family was that pushy about it, it felt like the family care about what she wanted and she wanted to be dating somebody so they were supportive of her dating somebody??
I felt the weird relationship between Haleigh and her sister Joey just stem from Joey saying some snarky comments when they were children and Haleigh holding on to that into their adulthood?? There would be times when Joey was just talking to Haleigh and giving her advice that Haleigh wanted and then Haleigh being snippy back at her??
I feel like the breakdown of Haley and Jackson's friendship from 5 years ago was a little silly but also they were college kids so I can't imagine them having deep thoughtful conversations always. I feel like because of them setting up those stupid rules and refusing to have an in-depth conversation about what happened, they just wasted time not being together and not fully having their friendship back to 100%.

I didn't care for when it got turned into a love triangle and the breakdown of Haleigh and Brian's relationship was he didn't read very often and he had a busy job so his form of relaxation was different than hers?? Like I knew we had to write one of the guys out of the triangle but there was no flaw there??

I feel like it ending with Jackson proposing at Joey's big party while saying " I'm not going to get down on one knee because I don't want to steal Joey's thunder " well maybe you should be proposing at this party then?? Also it had only been like a couple of weeks of them actually starting to date for real and then they moved in and got engage right away??

I feel like there was so many opportunities to make this interesting and like good and it just felt so messy. I liked a lot of the side characters more than the actual main characters.

This was really cute and fun. I loved the concept. This book follows Haleigh who has had terrible luck with dating and she’s fed up with her loved ones hounding her about getting a serious partner. So, she decided to come up with a plan, she will let her family/friends set her up on 10 dates and in exchange, after the 10 dates they will stop judging her for not having a partner. It includes bi representation, anxiety representation, best friends to lovers, plus-sized FMC, and a slight love triangle. I adored Haleigh’s character, she was so fun and the little surveys she would have each person fill out before each date added such a fun element. I loved seeing all the different dates throughout. I also think Jenny L. Howe did an incredible job of showing how anxiety can feel for different people, both MCs dealt with their anxiety in different ways, which was done really well. I wasn’t a huge fan of the mild love triangle situation included, while it added an interesting part of the story, it was just obvious who she was going to end up with the whole time, and it felt a little unnecessary for moving the plot forward, in my opinion. However, I really enjoyed how the story wrapped up and how much both MCs really cared for each other. Overall, if you’re a fan of rom-coms, Jenny L. Howe’s writing definitely gives you that. I was laughing and smiling so many times throughout, she did a great job implementing comedy into the story.

This wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t memorable, either. And I definitely DONT need you telling me who chose what word every five sentences!
