If an author can make me, famously terrified of space, excited for a trip outside of earth’s orbit… she’s an excellent writer.

But seriously, I loved everything about this. Of course it’s a sci-fi story at its heart but I also adored the little bit of romance in the relationship between Elma and Nathaniel. (We love a supportive husband!!!) The cheeky writing and occasional fourth wall break really worked for me and Elma was such a fully formed character because of it. I already can’t wait to dive into the second book to see what the Lady Astronauts get up to next.

good book, just little slow at times

Good book, just a little slow at times. I really like the premise and alternative version of history. Style of book reminded me a of the Martian
