I'm obsessed with this series! I love their friendship and their family. Cassio and Áine were perfection. I loved the chemistry that they shared. Áine was my girl. So brave didn't break down. Looking forward for Nikolai book soon!
Penelope Ann Rose and Karl Michaels bring this story to life. The Belles & Mobsters series takes us on a rollercoaster of emotions through Áine and Cassio's story. Penelope captures Áine's fiery spirit and vulnerability, making us feel her trauma and strength journey. On the other hand, Michaels embodies the enigmatic Cassio, his voice oozing danger and protectiveness. Áine's skepticism, though at times annoying, becomes a real emotion through Penelope's narration. The chemistry between the characters is palpable in Michaels' voice, drawing us deeper into their complex mafia world with a moral code. While the pace may falter compared to previous installments, the duo's narration keeps us hooked. Despite its flaws, this audiobook remains captivating, leaving us eager for the next chapter in the series.

Eva Winners' writing at its best! Cassio continues the gift that keeps on giving which is the Belles & Mobsters series, a must-read series for all!
Thank you to the wonderful Eva Winners for this ARC of Cassio for me to read and review. It's a pleasure to be on your ARC team and to support your work!

I first started the Belles & Mobsters series adventure with book one, Luciano--I've got to catch up with Nico--, and I'm thrilled to continue it here with book three, the infamous and long-awaited not-to-be-messed with mafia mobster, Cassio King.
Oh how I wish I can spill all the juicy, spicy, steamy tea for you all but alas, this is a spoiler-free review. But I can tell you this, grab all your bookish essentials, your tea/coffee, pick a comfy spot and settle in for a read that has everything that you simply won't be able to--no-- simply cannot put down! I was on a bit of a time crunch to read it before release day, otherwise I would have spent time savouring this delectable man. I mean read! Read. Delectable read. Cassio only proved just how much I would love this series on my bookcase, I simply must have to look and pick him up again and again!
Cassio--the book, not the man--takes us deeper and deeper into the world of Belles and Mobsters, showcasing the darker, more emotionally gritty and badass sides of its characters and what drives them to do what they need to do both in their line of work, and for themselves. Scales of deception know no bounds in this book, and it was entertaining to read when the penny dropped with a loud and echoey clang.
Though this book much like the series is a romantic suspense/mafia romantic suspense, this book is definitely heavier on the latter part of those tropes. Surprisingly to my own bookish taste (which usually diverts towards more steam/romance), I was here for it! Mafia romance is still a genre I'm fairly new to, and I only read from certain authors who give me exactly what I'm loving about this genre and its tropes, and Eva is one of those select few who just get it right and tick all the boxes. Cassio was dark, daring, and has one hell of an independent, badass, strong-as-hell female character. No wallflowers here. Overall, I'm falling more and more in love with mafia men, and I certainly did with Cassio Hunter King.
Suffice to say, I feel like I'm part of the Belles and Mobsters gang at this point. Luciano completely floored me and I have to hold my hand up and say I'm still floored by my favourite mobster of the group, but Cassio was get-up-out-of-your-seet-and-clap amazing! Of course like all fictional men, there were times where I just wanted to slap him upside the head and tell him to do this and that, or say this and that, but overall Eva has once more given us a leading man that is a fair contender to be someone's next favourite man and book boyfriend.
I just have one question...when are we getting the next book?! Please!? I cannot get enough!
Five stars for Cassio and for Eva!

Five stars for Cassio and for Eva!
Steamy and filled with danger and suspense, Cassio takes us even deeper into the sordid underground of this series. It’s a fantastic addition to the series and is a must read, especially if you’ve read the first two books in the series.
The third installment of the Belles and Mobsters series focuses on Cassio and Aine. He’s the mobster that’s certainly ruthless but also fights against the horrors and injustice that his father, half-brother, and others like them commit against women and children. Aine is the fiery woman who years before Cassio and his brother Luca saved from their father’s atrocious business of trafficking. She was only 14 when it all happened, and she doesn’t have any real memories of her the men that saved her. Cassio on the other hand definitely remembers her and instantly finds himself drawn to her now that she’s grown. A lot happens, but essentially Aine’s family doesn’t want her involved with men like Cassio, and so he concocts a plan to make her his. This story traces these two over the course of over a decade, and we see how they go from victim and hero to a whole lot more.
These characters were made for each other! Cassio and Aine have this undeniable attraction for sure, but it’s more than that. It’s like they were fated to be with one another from the time Cassio saves her. She’s feels safe with him when she doesn’t really with others, even though she can’t understand why necessarily. Plus, she’s one feisty and brave lady, and in that way she compliments Cassio perfectly. He’s a total alpha, but Aine is tough in her own right, too. She may have been a victim in the past, but she’s grown into a strong woman that will not let the cruelty perpetrated by Cassio’s father stand. That passion is another reason I feel these two characters play so wonderfully off one another. Also, the chemistry between them is off the charts, and I love how well they work together.
And, something that I love about this book and series is that there’s always the element of danger and suspense. It’s part of what propels the story, and it makes the series so interesting. This book is high on the action scale, and it really works for the pacing. The things the characters have to go through and how they manage it all combined with the steaminess and connection between Cassio and Aine is certainly what makes this book such a page turner.
If you love mafia romance, I highly recommend this book and series as a whole. Cassio is a passionate but suspenseful romance, and I love the characters through and through. I cannot wait for Alexei’s story next!
