insta love but really slowed down toward the end for me so it kinda killed it a bit. cute read

This was a sweet, well-written book. It was a little too fluffy for my liking, I prefer more angst/tension, but it was still a pleasant read.

I know the French was quite important to Bryce's character, but having to stop and translate so frequently really interrupted the flow of my reading. The author's rather condescending note at the beginning didn't really help, considering Kindle's built-in translator gets half of it wrong, and Canadian French is different enough that even Google translate didn't understand some of the phrases. It would have been more helpful to just put a glossary in the book to bookmark and easily flick back and forth to.

Overall a decent read but I'm not sure I'm in any rush to check out this author's other works.

“You asked what it all means. I didn’t know then, but I think I do now. I think we were meant to find each other, and I think we were meant to do this all together. Everything. Play this game, live our lives. Be us. That’s what I want, Bryce. I want you. I want to be with you, on the ice and off.”

never thought i'd rate a tal bauer book this low, but here i am. the constant back and forth between english and french and having to translate every five seconds just took me out of the moment and got exhausting very quickly. the insta love was something else and i just wasn't buying it. and i was just bored overall and ended up skimming a lot just to make myself finish it. not for me!

If someone called me their star I'd lose my god damn mind.

This book was justtttttt *chef's kiss*

I have such a deep love for things that have the ability to make me hold my breath and I only get it with a handful of all the new things I absorb but this one made me hold my breath. Hunter and Bryce were each other's other half. In every moment, they completed the other's thoughts, sentences, whatever. It was like watching people dance and never stop.

Seriously, I started this and adored it from the beginning. Tiktok definitely got this one right for me.
