Wow. This book had some really good twist and turns. At first I felt annoyed with Millie and the way she was acting on her feelings for Andy. And the way Nina was treating everyone. And just felt like everyone had something wrong with them.. And than BAM the twist and turns start and I was completely sucked into this book!

So, I don't get the hype this book got as you can see by the rating. I had really hoped to like this book more but when I was like 30 percent into the story I had already decided that there was no way in the world I was going to give this book more than two stars. It started with part one. I soon realized that his was going to be a very quick read. The language and the flow just made it very easy to read, in my opinion a little too easy. BUT... that is something I can look past if I think the rest of the story is very enjoyable. It wasn't sadly. What bothered me a lot was that the author didn't seem to trust me as a reader to 'get it', meaning that every clue etc. was very much in your face, and mentioned several times. Also, a lot of things became suspicious at the same time or right from the beginning, which didn't help building the tension for me.
Besides that it was quite repetitive in naming certain things which made me guess the plot of the entire book basically. Millie calling Andrew handsome every other page, the door of the attic being 'locked', Nina seeming pure evil. It just was too much at the same time, it could have used some subtlety in my opinion. Then part two happened, and I see what it was meant to do, but because we already read it from the other perspective, and I had guessed what would happen, it became quite boring and just the same all over again. And then in part three it felt like the reveal of Millie's crime was added this far into the story to make sure that there could be a sequel, it didn't add much any more too this point. Besides just the writing style and repetitiveness, I also just did not enjoy the way all these characters were written. It was like they could have been great but they were very 2D for me. They didn't seem like real people. I think it is clear that I don't feel the need to continue the series.

Couldn’t put it down

I will never understand how I feel about these books. But I will say this was a way better book then I’ve read so far of hers. The characters weren’t whiny and there was a lot of twist and turns
