Wow, this twisty thriller is exactly what I want in a book! Characters to love and hate and a very satisfying ending. I didn't want to put it down!
If you haven't read any Peter Swanson yet, definitely start this series with The Kind Worth Killing and read them in order.

An engaging and pretty fast-paced thriller that features a lot more of Lily than it does of Henry. I liked that this had somewhat of a mystery aspect and a twist in the middle, despite it seeming clear that we knew from the beginning who the killer was. Lily is also a pretty unique character and I enjoyed getting to know more about her thought process and what drives her, although some decisions she made I definitely disagreed with.

Pace was exceptionally fast and to the point. I absolutely loved that but also did not feel a connection to the characters. Not sure if this is because there are other books before this.
But I do have to say the twists that this plot brought were great

This was a short book but unfortunately did not rope me in. I found it a bit boring and hard to get into although the idea was interesting, the execution was bland at best. It got 2 stars for originality as this was different than some of the most recent thrillers I've read.
The *tone* of the book was hard to pinpoint, this read very flat which, in turn made the whole thing ~ characters, dialogue, plot, pacing ~ seem incredibly off. The plot is hard to understand, there's a few things happening at once and although they all connect somehow they don't connect well enough to make it an intriguing story. Connections were made for the sake of making the story but not for the sake of plot progression. Some things were inconsequential to the story and a lot of actions of the main characters(?) had no real consequences. I feel like the plot itself was lacking and wasn't solid, there's really not 1 singular thing happening, everything is happening all at once and what starts off as 1 story bleeds into another story entirely about another person completely.
The characters were all boring, I didn't feel anything from any of them. There was no tension, I wasn't scared for anyone and I didn't feel particularly surprised when anything happened. The pacing was fine if not a bit slow but it was overall hard to get through.
