A quick and sexy read that was too heavy handed with romance conventions.

I quite enjoyed the start of the story. The characters were sexy and I love the boss/personal assistant romance theme.

However, the book faltered midway. There were two "evil bitches", blackmail and two grand gestures that were awkward in its execution. Just a little too much going on in one fairly short book.

The scene at the end of the book when one of the evil bitches gets her comeuppance. Seriously? This is everyone's secret fantasy where their enemy gets their just desserts. Except it doesn't work in real life and it definitely does not work in this book. It was just too much and too ridiculous.

Enjoyable if you can set aside those peeves I mentioned earlier. Just okay, if you can't.

This was one of my Audible Romance Package listens. It's not my favorite so far.

The story was ok. The narration, less so.

The plot was overshadowed by OTT sex scenes. It felt like the author was trying to make sure every single thing was covered on page so all readers would be happy. While at the same time, trying to walk a tight rope so that the MCs didn't do anything that might alienate any readers. Throw in a background sob story, a couple of token female caricatures and call it done.

It wasn't awful. It had all the pieces to the puzzle. It just didn't come together as prettily as it should have.

Review to come soon.

M/M authors need to do way, way better than making women the villains. Fucking disgusting.

Yummy office romance! Love the plot, and I really liked Will, and he and Blake together were just yummy! Loved the epilogue especially, just sooo sweet!

Boring. And please don't ever let this narrator perform sex talk.

The romance parts of this, I really liked. I enjoyed both the main characters, the chemistry was good, the sex was HOT, and I felt they got to know each other pretty well while working together.

Where it kinda fell off the rails for me was with not one, but TWO evil bitch women. It just felt unnecessary. First there was the total over the top beard/girlfriend. It did throw a bit of a monkeywrench into things, but ok, I guess it added a bit to the story. But the receptionist part added NOTHING other than to give a place for Blake to have to publicly declare his love. It just felt too heavy handed, and could have been done another way. Karen's story also didn't ring true with me, like it was just there to excuse what she had done to Will. I'm not even sure I would have believed it, after what she did. She didn't prove herself to be someone to be trusted, at all, but they just forgave it instantly. It also never explained why she came on to him so strong in the first place, if she was in a relationship like that.
