tooth-achingly fluffy and sweet novel with almost no angst and quite a few moments that make you feel second-hand embarrassment and/or laugh out loud! this is definitely a feel good novel that could be exactly what you need to take your mind off of things, not a serious read.
bonus: the explanations for the game are actually really interesting and i found myself intrigued by the game they were playing (which is great because a large part of the book *does* take place within the game itself!).

This was so funny, fluffy and entertaining! I was a little depressed for a lot of things and it actually made me forget about them for three days straight! I enjoyed this novel quite a bit, just what I needed.

I really enjoyed this! It was super cute and I really enjoyed the main pairing! I felt butterflies so many times while reading! Certain parts of the book did drag a bit, but I enjoyed the characters and the game aspect a lot, so it only bothered me a bit. The side characters were pretty enjoyable, although some of them felt a bit pointless as they didn't actually end up contributing anything to the story. All in all, it was very enjoyable and I would recommend it to anyone looking for something cute without much angst.

I liked this much better on my reread, and I already loved it during my first read last year. It has an interesting premise (catfishing for revenge in a game) built on top of a misunderstanding. The MMORPG experience was immersive and really fun. Plot-wise, everything I expected to happen did happen but they didn’t happen when/the way I thought it would happen. It was very creative, the author was two steps ahead of the reader, and it’s really refreshing for that to happen on a light read. I think it was the ending that felt a bit too abrupt on my first read, given the length of the novel and the other issue that was brought up in the last chapter, though I do understand that tackling those issues would already be a different plot/stage in the characters life/relationship and wouldn’t have matched with the overall tone of this book.
Hilarious gaming novel featuring the most over-the-top funny secret identity shenanigans ever. Jing Huan decides to impersonate a cute, flirty girl and catfish a guy in-game in order to get revenge for his cousin who had her heart broken by the slag guy. Unfortunately, he gets the wrong guy behind the account. Lots of shenanigans and secrets, and thirst (and cuteness) between the main couple, with an angsty reveal arc was everything I hoped for and more. You may need some minor tolerance for second-hand embarrassment, but it's a very fluffy and sweet read once you get past that.
