3.9 AVERAGE

Wow, just wow! Nora Roberts has outdone herself on this series. So well done, and now I am in book mourning after finishing it this morning. I may have to start it over and re-read it.

4.6

Well, this book tied everything up in a big bow of love and light. Pretty much what I expected. I must say, the first book in this trilogy was the best one...

The last 1/3 of this book was very unsatisfying. No climax to speak of and a very blah ending. I expected so much more and was very disappointed.

Disappointing. I'm glad the trilogy is over but this book wasn't as good as the first.

Summary: Fallon Swift has spent all her life preparing for this moment. No longer can she stand by whilst her fellow Magicks are hunted by the fanatical Purity Warriors or rounded up and experimented on by the government. Fallon must follow her destiny to restore the magical shield that once protected them all. But she can't do it alone. It is time to build her army, to take on her nemesis and take down the enemy. She has learned to fight, now she must restore the light and banish the dark forever. The final battle has begun.

Listened to the audiobooks this time, very much enjoyed it.

I loved this series. I am going to miss Fallen and Duncan and all of the rest of the beautiful beings.

3.5 Not great literature, but a very satisfying end to the trilogy.

(3.5 rounded up)

&& With the end of this book I have officially finished the Chronicles of the One trilogu by Nora Roberts.

I hate to say it, but this book was my least favorite out of the 3.
It felt as if it was mostly a book of conversations, and while the action bits were good, some felt rushed, and there were gaps of things that happened that I would have loved to have been a part of versus it being summarized in a conversation with another character.

Overall though I really enjoyed this trilogy and all of the characters within

The Rise of Magicks is the third and final book in Nora Roberts' Chronicles of The One series. Defeating the spreading evil is Fallon Swift's responsibility - before she was even born - but it will take three. Everything of importance in this new world comes in threes, which is why Fallon alone cannot prevail. It will take the combined efforts of Duncan, his twin Tonia, and Fallon.

Overall this was a good story, but it was very repetitious and dragged on a lot. Out of the three books in the trilogy, I would have to say that my favorite was the first one. I did like how this book ended. I was happy that in the epilogue it showed the people of New Hope moving on with life and starting to live in the light, without fear of the dark.
