Unfortunately, this was a let down for the series.
My problem with this books was that it simply didn't have any risk. Fallon simply was unbeatable. She won ever battle, and nearly every main character survived miraculously. There was not question about her loosing, which made me less invested in her story as a reader.
I also felt that the relationship building in this book was much weaker than in the previous two. Fallon and Duncan hardly had a relationship in my opinion - they only interacted through magical dreams. They never had a long conversation before "falling in love."
I also wished I got more out of Fallon and Tonia's friendship, as that would have made the story more impactful as well.

If you're after a post-apocalyptic fantasy with clear binaries (black/white, good/evil), hetero-normative family values, and America at the centre of the universe, then this may be the Trilogy for you.
Absolutely loved this trilogy and this book made me cry, just as much as the second one! Loved the magic, loved the loyalty, the family, all the symbols! Such a great read!
Really enjoyed it! The end was fantastic! I feel like it just went a little too fast. A lot of things happened faster than I wanted because "destiny" which made the moments a bit less effective. The battles went by very quickly for a large portion of the book, and the love story went way too quick. One second they barely know each other and the next they say "I love you."
All that said, this is a fantastic world, with really great complex themes and characters. An excellent story. It ended too quickly.

Plot feels already laid out. Characters are boring with little development. 18 days in and couldn't make myself want to read it.
