This is a battle heavy book. Fallon is methodical. There are some heavy moments in this book, and I bawled like a baby during a scene with Joe :'(.
The push/pull of Duncan & Fallon sort of falls a little flat for me. I get their connection, but the big love story in this trilogy for me is Lana & Simon.
I really enjoyed getting back to New Hope, and seeing the new forces join in the fight.
Overall, it's a great wrap up of the trilogy, but for once ... the final book isn't my favorite of the three. Blood and Bone ended up being my favorite.

I was eager to get this book, but it was so so so slow. Omg.
2.5 stars.
It was very redundant... a lot of the same thing said and done over and over again. Felt a little like she got to the end and didn't really have anymore story other than "finish all the plotlines even if I'm not excited about it" and relied a lot on the heavy-handed imagery (this is why we must do it, let me repeat this a bunch) and prior books (remember when we did this thing? remember why this is important?). Which shouldn't be a bad thing in the last book of a trilogy but felt kind of flat and boring and, well, redundant.
Which is odd because she's had other trilogies that didn't feel that way. But I think this series was a little bit different from her normal fare in general. Though this book definitely felt the MOST like a Nora Roberts read. It was... not bad, but definitely didn't live up to the other 2 books.

I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 of the books in this series but this one I think was my favorite. Typically I don't like a ton of fantasy type books but these were so different and fascinating to read. I highly recommend!
