hard to read the first time.
Requires 3-4 reads to understand it.

I really tried with this one. Definitely has a “who’s on first” comedic style, which I normally love, but bits would go on for wayyyy too long. And hella confusing

Yossarian's Catch-22 where he has to stay alive even if it kills him trapping him in a vague guilt where he feels like he's to blame for his friends dying in dangerous missions he didn't go on to the point at the end he feels compelled to look after his dead friends' relationships to the point he is putting himself in danger for people that blame him for his friends' deaths and want him dead... really changed something in me and my relationships

Surreal, tragicomical, deeply symbolic. A sad parody of the absurdity of a war.
I laughed a lot, feeling a tinge of guilt as I thought back to a time that was everything but fun.

AMAZING! Full of dark humour and insightful barbs that fully capture the pointlessness of war and bureaucracy in general, and then there are these moments of quiet despair that almost sneak up on you. It fully deserves "catch 22" being a household phrase.
