The quality of the series has really depleted/feels over done.
The original trilogy is still unparalleled in my opinion, but it was a decent story about Lisbeth.

Honestly such drivel, Steig Larsson would be sepinning in his grave. The previous 2 by this author were ok, but it felt like he was given a month to write and release this one.
If you can look past the glaring misrepresentations of the lead characters developed by Larsson, you will still be let down by the poor writing. The book seemed to focus so heavily on Blomkvist, which is interesting for a series that was initially focussed so heavily on a female protagonist/centering women's issues.
I read previous review that said this author was self consciously clever, trying to provide unnecessary background about topics to show off their research. I didn't notice this until he described a poisonous plant as a 'dicotyledon' which for anyone with a background in biology is simply a hilariously irrelevant detail which only serves to show the authors total lack of understanding of the subject, he clearly just plucked a word from the species Wikipedia description because it sounded smart. Don't waste your time on this book.

This book was far more interesting than the previous two books in the series. The writing was easy to get into and the plots meld together easily. The story stood on its own while combining the storylines of the previous books. That being said it felt like this book did what the previous two books should have done; it told its own story while moving the main story forward. The action in this book separates itself from the grounded in reality aspect of the original trilogy. Despite all of its problems, I do still hope for more books in this series, even if it’s written by another author.
